GUDDU BARGE records a great flood when the Indo River swells through Sindh


Water levels in the Indo River rose to dangerous levels on Sunday when heavy Punjab flows arrived in Sindh, causing a high flood in Guddu Barge.

The entrance was 612,269 CUSECs and output of 582,942 CUSECS. People were warned in low areas that moved to safer places.

Large areas of cultivation land were flooded, damaging thousands of crops acres, and river peoples were reported near Kandhkot under water.

The emergency response equipment of the Pakistan Navy, equipped with aerodeslizers, rescue boats and divers, are carrying out help operations in Kashmore, Ghotki, Sukkur and Shikarpur.

The Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said the Indo River remains at a large flood in Guddu Barge and Medium Flood in Sukkur Barge, with the provincial authorities that continue rescue and relief operations.

Memon told an entry and exit of 402,919 Cusecs in Panjnad, 612,269 and 582,942 Cusecs in Guddu, 488,820 and 438,390 Cusecs in Sukkur, and 274,129 and 261,399 CUSECs in Kotri Bary.

In the last 24 hours, 5,269 people moved to a safe place, which took the total relocated to 163,364. Another 252 residents of the river areas were transferred to Socorro camps, where 469 people are currently.

The provincial government has established 177 fixed and mobile health sites, treating 6,596 patients on the last day and 84,118 in total.

The relocation of the cattle also continued, with 11,569 animals transferred in 24 hours, raising the total to 438,835. Veterinary teams treated or vaccinated 51,308 animals on the last day, for a total of 1,232,223.

Memon said he will continue a nearby monitoring of all bombings and medical and relief support 24 hours.
