Gwen Stefani is amazed by her recent reunion with No doubt on stage at Coachella.
The 55-year-old singer opened up to the British magazine. HELLO! about the nostalgic experience of taking the stage with his former bandmates for the first time since 2015.
“Performing at Coachella and feeling all that love for us after all this time was overwhelming,” Stefani told the publication, according to POP.
“We hadn’t done anything together for so long, so to do that and be there for each other, with all of our families, meant a lot to me.”
The singer continued: “It had been so long but it was like we had never been apart,” adding that she still feels “incredibly lucky.”
The band, complete with Tom Dumont on guitar, Tony Kanal on bass and Adrian Young on drums, headlined the Indio, California music festival in April, where Olivia Rodrigo also joined Stefani and No doubt on stage for bath water.
Stefani stunned in a ’90s-inspired ensemble featuring ripped black tights, cutoff jean shorts, and a white tank top.
The onstage meeting came after Stefani hinted rolling stone in 2016 that a studio reunion was unlikely because “they had drifted apart in terms of the type of music we want to make.”
“I was really exhausted and exhausted when we recorded [2012’s Push and Shove]”,” The Voice the coach added. “And I had a lot of guilt: ‘I have to do it.’ That’s not the right setting to make music.”
No doubt They formed in 1986 and released six albums throughout their time together, most recently in 2012.
However, Stefani was certainly eager in January to rekindle the previous spark on stage with the No doubt meeting.
“It just happened so fast, and that’s my favorite kind of thing. We haven’t really figured out the next steps of how we’re going to do this, but we’re all very excited,” he said. People Magazine months before taking the Coachella stage.
