A rising gymnast who hoped to represent his homeland at the Olympic Games died Thursday after suffering a serious injury during a training accident in Russia.
The Indonesian Gymnastics Federation confirmed the death of Naufal Takdir to the 19 -year -old Bari, which occurred after a 12 -day stay in intensive care.
“The Indonesian Gymnastics Federation is in mourning, the male athlete Naufal Takdir al Bari has died,” the organization wrote on Instagram. “The 19 -year -old gymnast breathed the last one after undergoing intensive care for 12 days at Ga Zakharyin Hospital.”

According to the reports, the Bari suffered a serious neck injury after it fell into a foam well while entering the high bar, according to the publication of the social networks of the Russian Gymnastics Federation.
Al Bari was considering the qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

However, before the summer games, the Bari had his eyes on the World Artistic Gymnastics Championship this year in Indonesia. The championships are scheduled to start in October.

In a statement, the president of Indonesia Gymnastics Ita Yuliati described Al Bari as “a young talented athlete and a good figure.”
“Indonesian gymnastics has lost the best of the best of the nation,” the statement continued, and added: “This is a deep blow and pain for us. That the family has strength.”

An investigation into the death of Al Bari concluded that he was poorly prepared for the training session.
“We carried out the necessary research, and all the circumstances surrounding the injury have been established. Unfortunately, the athlete was not prepared to perform such a complex element,” said the vice president of the Russian Gymnastics Federation, Vasily Titov, in a telegram post, translated from Russian.
It still is still clear what specific trick did the trick to the bari before the tragic event.
The Indonesian Gymnastics Federation did not immediately respond to the request for comments from Pak Gazette Digital.
