Heavy rains, strong winds and hail storms hit Islamabad and surrounding areas on Wednesday, breaking a warm and dry climate spell in the Federal Capital.
The sudden downpour and the powerful gusts brought a notable temperature drop, offering temporary heat relief. However, the severe hail storm caused vehicle damage, breaking the glass windows of several cars.
Meteorological officials had previously predicted partially cloudy skies with thunderstorms and possible hail for Wednesday night.
The maximum temperatures during the day reached between 34 ° C and 36 ° C with moisture at 64%.
The Department of Meteorology of Pakistan (PMD) predicts that the hot and dry climate will return to the region before Thursday, with similar expected conditions on Friday.
Meanwhile, parts of the country’s higher and central regions also experienced isolated showers and racing winds as a west meteorological system passed.
