- The Roomba Mini debuted in the UK
- It is the “smallest Roomba robot ever created” by iRobot
- The Roomba Mini comes in four colors and costs £379
When we spoke to iRobot CEO Gary Cohen last year, shortly after his company was purchased by contract manufacturing company Picea, he promised us smaller robot vacuums for smaller spaces, like apartments. And now iRobot is delivering on that promise in the UK and Europe.
It just launched the Roomba Mini, which it claims is the “smallest Roomba robot ever created.” According to iRobot, it’s perfect for cleaning small homes with tight spaces and is “half the size, twice as clean” as the Roomba 105.
It launches today (March 10) for £379 in the UK from the official iRobot store. There’s no word yet on a US or Australian release.

According to iRobot, smaller does not equal less capacity. This robot vacuum comes with a “full power” vacuum, mopping capabilities, and a self-emptying base: Using iRobot’s AllergenLock technology, its self-emptying base bags can store up to three months of dirt and keep allergens trapped inside.
I love my Roomba vacuum: it’s smart, capable, and provides a solid clean, but it may be a little big for my apartment. I have some tight furniture corners that I can have trouble with, and if I forget to thoroughly clean my floors, I may accidentally block my vacuum from a space with an errant table leg or cushion. So the Roomba Mini could be precisely what I need for my home.
I also love its more fun color range, another first for iRobot Roombas. There are classic black and white options, as well as Mint and Pink, which are vibrant but not overbearing; Just note that the black model quickly sold out in Japan when it launched there last month.
Roomba owners have understandably been concerned about the company following its recent financial troubles, but this launch suggests that it remains as committed to its hardware as ever and that the brand is still keen to continue innovating in the floor care market.
Can it regain its place at the top of the robot cleaning ladder in our picks for the best robot vacuum cleaners? That remains to be seen, but this small but seemingly powerful new robot gives me hope.
