Halle Berry, more than two decades later x2 successful in cinemas, has revealed that he has no regrets about confronting the film’s director on the set, describing it as one of the most satisfying moments of his career.
Remembering his time playing Storm in the X-Men franchise, Berry recently recalled confronting director Bryan Singer during filming, saying he spoke out after feeling like the entire cast and crew were being mistreated.
The actress said she became a spokesperson because others felt she was the only one who would really do it.
“Everyone was angry, but they all told me, ‘Halle, go tell him,’ because they knew I would,” he said. Entertainment Weekly.
“And it’s one of the best days on a set, telling someone who was hurting the whole crew, the whole cast, exactly where to go. And then I got on a plane and flew home with my X-Men suit on.”
And he added bluntly: “I’m sorry, that guy deserved it.”
The incident occurred during production at x2the sequel to Singer’s original. X-Men.
Singer returned to the franchise for X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse.
His most recent directing credit was Bohemian Rhapsodyalthough he was replaced during production by Dexter Fletcher following reported clashes with star Rami Malek.
Berry, who later moved on to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, recently shared mixed feelings about the upcoming Avengers crossing.
He admitted that he is “sad” that he won’t be reuniting with his ex. X-Men co-stars in Avengers: Judgment Daybut he made it clear that he would return “in a heartbeat” if asked about future mutant-related projects.
Many of his former co-stars will appear in the film, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Alan Cumming, Kelsey Grammer and Channing Tatum.
Avengers: Judgment Day Its premiere is scheduled for December 18. Meanwhile, work is already underway on a new X-Men chapter.
Director Jake Schreier, who is helming the Marvel Studios reboot, recently confirmed that development has begun and called the process “very, very exciting,” though he didn’t share details.
Outside of superhero movies, Berry remains busy behind and in front of the camera through her production company HalleHolly, which she runs with Holly Jeter.
The company has lined up a packed slate of film and television projects, most of which Berry will star in.
In the cinematographic field, she will lead The president is missingan adaptation of Bill Clinton and James Patterson’s political thriller, currently in development. Berry will play President Duncan in a gender-swapped take.
She is also attached to Bad cop, bad copan action comedy directed by Kay Cannon, where he will star alongside Fortune Feimster and Jillian Bell.
His television projects include zero shita menopause comedy in development at Peacock from writers Liz Kruger and Carolyn Townsend, and The patienta horror drama developing on HBO with writer Laeta Kalogridis.
Berry could also star in the revenge drama. Mother Doomcurrently finalizing a development deal at FX.
Other film projects on his list include Tanned, family exchange and Probation officerthe latter of which HalleHolly and Imagine scored in a competitive bidding war.
The company has also partnered with Cathy Byrd to adapt her memoir. The boy who knew too much.
While her career continues to expand across genres and platforms, Berry’s reflection on it X-Men days shows that he still values standing his ground, even when it meant criticizing a powerful director on one of Hollywood’s biggest stages.
