LAHORE:
While PTI works to take Jamiat Ulema-E-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) to the opposition’s fold, the party has put its cards on the table, expressing reservations about the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa fire brand, Prime Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, “derogatory comments” about Mauula Fazlur Rehman.
The leader of Jui-F, Hafiz Hamdullah, fell strongly on Gandapur, demanding that PTI explain whose agenda he was pushing, arguing that his repeated offensive comments were burying political waters.
“On the one hand, the leadership of Asad Qaiser and PTI are becoming an opposition alliance, while, on the other hand, Gandapur is throwing insults unnecessarily to Maulana Fazlur Rehman,” said Hamdullah.
He urged PTI’s leadership to control Gandapur, warning that not doing so could cause a strong Jui-F response. “If PTI does not control its members, we will be forced to respond in kind,” he warned.
Hamdullah emphasized that PTI must monitor the statements of its members to maintain an atmosphere conducive to political dialogue.
The development occurred when Jui-F transmitted his conditions and concerns to PTI with respect to his possible participation in the Great Opposition Alliance.
According to the sources, the leadership of Jui -F has informed the leader of PTI Asad Qaiser of the conditions of the party, some of which refer specifically to KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur, before committing to the alliance.
