Cody Linley is looking back at his hanna montana days with love and a little honesty.
During a November appearance at the Reel Appreciation In the podcast, the 36-year-old actor reflected on his portrayal of Jake Ryan and didn’t hesitate to address the character’s complicated breakup with Miley Stewart.
“A lot of people think they were the endgame,” Linley said of the fan-favorite couple. “But Jake did mess up in the end. So I’m going to leave it up to fan speculation on that.”
On the show, Miley finally ended their on-again, off-again romance after discovering that Jake had cheated on her, a story that still sparks debate among viewers.
When asked where Jake might be today, Linley joked, “Maybe he’d be leading, like I’m doing.” He also expressed excitement about reconnecting with his former co-stars. “I would love to have a reunion. The time we all spent together was very special. And just getting together to celebrate, to love each other would be amazing.” Teasing what’s to come, he added of Jake’s “bittersweet ending,” “We’ll see what happens.”
His comments come just as Disney announced a hanna montana 20th Anniversary Special, hosted by Alex Cooper and featuring “never-before-seen footage” and an interview with Miley Cyrus.
