happy place The cast is shooting for the stars when it comes to guest stars for season 2.
Reba McEntire, Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Rex Linn and Tokala Black Elk shared their dream guest stars for season 2 and shared that they wish Kevin Costner would play McEntire’s late on-screen father, Happy.
So far, the show has featured guest appearances by Steve Howey, Christopher Rich and JoAnna García Swisher.
“We dreamed of seeing flashbacks of Happy,” Castelblanco said. Us weekly. “Belissa really loves Kevin Costner.”
Peterman, 54, agreed, saying, “I would also love a flashback, specifically a flashback to the day that shows each and every one of them doing their job interview.”
“That could be a lot of fun. Do we really want to see Happy sometime? I’d love to,” he added.
The comedy follows Bobbie’s life after she inherits her father’s restaurant and reconnects with her long-lost half-sister (Belissa Escobedo).
Other characters on the show include waitress Gabby (Peterman), cook Emmett (Linn), accountant Steve (Castelblanco), and waiter Takoda (Black Elk).
Linn named some notable actors who would like to appear on the show, saying: “My dear friend John Lithgow would love to do it. He’s doing the Harry Potter show on HBO now, so he’ll be in London for another year. I’m also trying to get my good friend Jean Smart to come.”
“She’s in the studio right across the street. I’d love to see those two, but I have about 30 friends who want to come on the show. We’re trying to get some of them,” he added.
happy place Season 2 premieres on NBC on Friday, November 7.
