The actors behind The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘The antagonists have revealed that they had very little time to build a relationship between their characters.
Ralph Ineson and Julia Garner told Techradar that they only had 24 hours to create the complex relationship between Galactus and the silver surfer, whom they portray respectively in the Marvel movie Phase 6.
Taking into account how important it is for the actors to build chemistry before and during the filming, I was quite surprised to learn Ineson and Garner were given no more opportunities to do so.
My surprise was raised by the fact that the duo was present in a set for large parts of the shooting schedule of the Marvel movie as well. Garner, who, unlike Ineson, acted in front of those who played the fantastic four, carried a movement capture suit (Mocap) to portray the herald of Galactus in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie (MCU).
Meanwhile, Ineson was fully equipped in a practical demand so that it could appear on the set, although not in the same scene as other actors, such as the space entity of development of the immortal planet. In this way, the film crew could capture Ineson’s movements in real time and incorporate them into specific postproduction scenes. It could also be climbed up or down in these sequences, depending on how large the galact that altered size would alter.
Given the complicated dynamic at stake between Galactus and his assembly lieutenant in the surf table in the comics, many fans could have waited that Ineson and Garner spend time discussing how to give life to that in a real action capacity. However, as I said before, the opportunity to do it was barely introduced.
