
Harlan Coben has revealed how it felt to write a book with Reese Witherspoon.
For those who don’t know, the 63-year-old American writer has written 35 books, including Nobody is stupid, don’t tell anyone and The forests. He also wrote television series such as Missing You and Fool me once.
talking to PEOPLE magazine, Coben admitted that he has several best-selling books under his belt, but never thought about co-authoring a novel before Witherspoon approached him about the thriller. Gone before goodbye.
Articulating his thoughts, he said, “I’ve known Reese for about a decade. And she’s a fan, I’m a fanboy. I’m a big fan of hers, she’s read and seen all of mine, I’ve read and seen all of hers, and I’m a fan of the work she’s done for books in general.”
Notably, the Big little lies star is the founder of the media company Hello Sunshine that supports and encourages women-centered stories and runs the Reese Witherspoon Book Club.
Cementing her position in the entertainment world by garnering several accolades including an Academy Award, a BAFTA, and a Golden Globe, she is also an avid reader and torchbearer of literature.
Coben confessed that when Witherspoon approached him with a story idea, he couldn’t resist giving it his seal of approval.
“She came to my apartment and I was a little wary. I love Reese and I know how smart she is, but I’m not the guy who does collaborations. And she told me the story and I was like, ‘Damn, that’s good, we could do something with that.'” the innocent the author noted.
