Glasgow: Bayern Munich scored both sides of half a time through Michael Olise and Harry Kane, but had to endure the late pressure of the Celtic hosts before obtaining a 2-1 victory in their play-off game match of the Champions League on Wednesday.

The impressive Olise shot in the 45th minute put the German side in front, and Kane doubled the advantage with a 49 -minute volley in the distant post.

Celtic reduced the deficit in the 79th minute thanks to Daizen Maeda’s high range heading, injecting a late drama into the game.

The Bayern defended well when Celtic advanced and needed a fine except from goalkeeper Manuel Neuer in detention time to hold on to victory before the leg of Tuesday in Munich to decide a place in the 16 round.
