- Gemini can now read your Doc Google for you
- The authors can also add buttons so that readers listen more easily
- It is only available in English for now, and you can even customize the voice.
A new accessibility function that is added to Google Docs will allow users to generate audio versions of their documents for easy listening, but instead of traditional computer reading systems, use Gemini for a more natural language approach.
When using Gemini to read your documents, Google hopes to improve intonation and personality to make it easier for listeners to understand and absorb information.
“Whether you want to listen to your content aloud, absorb the best information while reading or helping to capture errors in your writing, the audio versions of your documents provide clear and natural sound voices that read your documents out loud,” Google summarized in a blog post.
Gemini will read your Google documents
The feature, which has already begun to implement some users, allows the eligible subscribers of Google to change voices and reproduction speeds for optimal comfort.
There are two ways to access the reader with Gemini, even via Tools> Audio where a sound clip will be generated.
The authors of the document can also choose to insert audio buttons directly into the document through Insert> audio Buttons so that readers can quickly click on the button to get a complete reading. The buttons can be customized with different styles and colors.
“This new audio function in Docs helps you commit to its content fresh and can improve the accessibility of your documents,” Google added.
Business Standard/Plus and Enterprise Standard/Plus accounts will be among the first to obtain access, as well as customers with education accessories, education premium, business or GEMINI companies.
Fortunately, it is not a characteristic reserved for companies, with Google Ai Pro and ultra plans also obtain access.
However, from the launch it will only work in English and in document desktop versions: future availability plans have been confirmed at this stage.
