HDAP warns about the shortage of medical devices that save life

Hospitals and laboratories face a serious shortage of essential medical equipment. DRAP has discontinued the extension for the registration of imported medical devices, preventing importers from bringing new equipment.

According to Muhammad Umar, founding member of the Pakistan Health Devices Association (HDAP), 90% of medical devices are imported. Due to the complex registration process that is not completed in time, an important crisis could arise.

Muhammad Umar declared that DRAP is over the extension for the registration of imported medical devices. As a result, hospitals, laboratories and medical care centers run the risk of experiencing a serious shortage of medical devices that save lives.

DRAP has imposed the prohibition of imports, which could lead to a critical shortage of medical supplies ranging from syringes to large test machines in hospitals.

Muhammad Umar described this as a national health crisis.
