The Chief General of the Air Force of South Africa (SAAF), Wiseman, Simo Mbamber, made an official visit to Pakistan, where he met with the head of the air staff of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), the marshal of the Air Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu at the air headquarters in Islamabad, according to the media of the military.
Upon arrival, the visiting dignitary was well received with a formal guard of honor for an intelligently elapsed contingent of the Pakistan Air Force, said public relations between services (ISPR) in a statement.
During the meeting, the PAF chief highlighted the strong bilateral relationship between Pakistan and South Africa, emphasizing the shared values and aspirations that support the deeply rooted friendship of the two nations. He reiterated PAF’s commitment to strengthen the Air Force Air Force capacities in South Africa through training and custom capacity construction initiatives, according to ISPR.
Lieutenant General Mbambo praised the operational preparation of the PAF, praising his multiple domain war capabilities and his success in maintaining a credible deterrence posture. He recognized the high standards maintained by the PAF and expressed his admiration for his technical excellence, he added.
A key approach to discussions was the renewal of the SAAF training regime. Lieutenant General MBAMBO expressed his desire to support PAF in the development of a modern and integral training framework, beginning at the academy level.
In addition, he requested the participation of SAAF officers as observers in the main PAF operating exercises to improve learning and promote collaboration, according to the ISPR report.
In addition, the SAAF chief talked about the possibility of increasing technical collaboration between the two air forces, particularly in the aircraft maintenance area.
Recognizing profitable maintenance capabilities and technical excellence of PAF engineering infrastructure, Lieutenant General MBAMB transmitted the intention of the SAAF to perform the inspection and maintenance of its C-130 fleet in Pakistan.
The discussions highlighted a mutual desire to institutionalize and strengthen further the formal relationship between the PAF and the SAAF.
This meeting is expected to allane the way for deeper cooperation between the two forces, which guarantees greater operational capacities and shared military experience.
