The Department of Meteorology of Pakistan (PMD) has issued a climate alert that predicts heat wave conditions in the southern parts of the country from Tuesday, April 8 to April 11.
Temperatures in Sindh, parts of Baluchistan and Central Punjab and South are expected to remain 4 ° C at 7 ° C above normal during this period.
In southern Pakistan, it is predicted that areas such as Sibi, Dadu and Nawabshah will experience extreme temperatures, reaching up to 48 ° C.
Other regions such as Sukkur and Tobat could see that temperatures rise to 46 ° C, while areas such as Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and fine can experience maximums of 43 ° C to 42 ° C. It is expected that Lahore will reach 40 ° C.
The public is advised, particularly vulnerable groups, such as older people, children and women, who take precautionary measures to prevent heat -related diseases. Residents are urged to avoid direct sunlight and remain hydrated during the warm climate.
Meanwhile, a shallow wave is expected to enter the regions of the north of the country on Tuesday night and remain until April 11.
This system is likely to bring dust and electric storms with occasional rains to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galliyat, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, the Pothhahar region and the northeast of Punjab.
Isolated hail storms can also occur, with dust storms and racing winds that are expected in the Punjab plains, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and high Sindh during this period.
