The Department of Meteorology of Pakistan (PMD) has issued an alert throughout the country, warning that very heavy monzone rains can lead to sudden floods, landslides and urban floods in several regions in the coming days.
Flash Flooding is Expected in local nullahs and streams of murree, galliyat, mansehra, kohistan, abbottabad, buner, chitral, dir, swat, shangla, nowshera, swabi, martan, Islamabad/rawalpindi, hill torrents of dg khan, northeast punjab, Kashmir, and Several Districts of Balochistan, Including Barkhan, Kohlu, Muse Khel, Dera Bugti, Lorealai, Bolan, Zhob, Ziarat, Kalat, Khuzdar, Awaran and Lasbela.
The PMD said that earth lands and landslides can cause road closures in vulnerable mountainous areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galliyat and Kashmir.
Urban floods can occur in low areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Nowshera and Peshawar.
The strong currents of the monsoon, together with a wave of the west, are currently affecting most of the central and southern regions of the country.
Rain with wind and thunderstorms in Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Punjab, Northeast and South of Baluchistan, and Upper Sindh until today and Tuesday.
It is likely that they are heavy fish isolated in Kashmir, the upper part of Punjab, the Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Baluchistan.
In the last 24 hours, rain was recorded in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Northeast and South of Baluchistan, and Sukkur.
Heavier showers were observed in Karor (37 mm), Kot Addu (31 mm), DG Khan (22 mm), Muzaffarabad (21 mm) and Lasbela (15 mm). Gilgit-Baltistan remained very hot, with Nokkundi registering the highest temperature at 47 ° C.
In southern Sindh, the weak monsoon currents continue to affect the region, with light rain and drizzle expected in Karachi and the nearby districts.
The PMD predicted partially cloudy and humid conditions for Karachi today, with possibilities of drizzine during the morning and night on Tuesdays and Wednesday.
The maximum temperature of the city is expected during the next three days between 33 ° C and 35 ° C.
Light showers are also probable today in Tharparkar, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, Mirpurkhas, Uurkot, Jamshor, Hyderabad and Tando Muhammad Khan, including the areas within the Karachi division.
The isolated rain is expected on Tuesday in Qambar Shahdokot, Larkana and Dadu.
In another part of Sindh, the weather is expected to remain partially cloudy, hot and humid.
