A car accident in Malakand has resulted in the death of five family members after his vehicle deviated from the road and immersed himself in a channel.
The incident occurred in the Duragai Tehsil, near the Afghan refugee field of Khatkoshah, in the middle of heavy rains.
Emergency responders, including Malakand’s taxes and local rescue teams, immediately arrived at the scene to recover the victims of water.
The deceased include two women, two girls and their driver. Since then, their bodies have been transported to a local hospital for identification and necessary procedures.
Muhammad As As Khan, a 1122 rescue spokesman, declared that the accident occurred because the vehicle lost control due to slippery road conditions created by heavy rain.
The Local Police confirmed that an investigation has been launched to the circumstances surrounding the accident, which has shocked the community.
Eye witnesses reported that the heavy rain contributed to the control of the vehicle that lost control before it fell to the channel.
Previously, heavy rains and thunderstorms swept Peshawar and its surroundings on early Wednesday, flooding streets and interrupting everyday life.
The downpour, which began around 6:30 am, lasted an hour, leaving roads submerged in water.
The dark clouds continue to dominate the horizon of the city, with light drizzle and strong winds reported on Tuesday too. Wet conditions extend beyond Peshawar, with dir and chitral experimenting rain during the last two days.
In Chitral, the snowfall resumed during the night, adding a fresh white layer to the mountain landscape.
