Karachi:
The Inspector General of the Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon has expressed a deep concern about the public’s failure to help the Szabista assistant Iphtikhar Ahmed after a tragic road accident in the Gothic area of Malir Shrafi.
The incident, captured in mobile phone videos that then circulated on social networks, showed the victim trapped under a trailer, did not receive immediate help from the spectators.
According to a statement issued by the police spokesman Syed Saad Ali, Ig Memon said that a valuable life could have been saved if the injured teacher received timely medical care. “Helping accident victims is not just a humanitarian act, it is a moral, legal and religious obligation for each citizen,” said the IG.
He stressed that excessive bleeding, critical injuries and unnecessary delays often result in deaths that could otherwise prevent themselves. “Do not let the fear of legal complications prevent you from helping,” he said. “Saving a life is like saving all humanity: this is not just a good action, it is an act of faith.”
The IG also said that remaining passive or silent against such emergencies is unacceptable. “All life matters. He advances and acts, don’t be a silent witness,” he said.
Ensuring the total support of the law agencies and civic agencies, he said that citizens who help injured are heroes and will be treated with respect and protection. “Police and civil agencies cannot fulfill their responsibilities without the active support of the public,” he added. “Even a small effort can save a life, so take that step without hesitation.”
The statement occurs after viral images showed Professor Iftikhar Ahmed trapped between the wheels of a trailer after an accident. The lack of immediate help caused a generalized outrage and caused this attractive public of the first policeman in the province.
