Nintendo has officially announced when the adaptation of live action of Zelda’s legend The video game franchise will be launched in theaters.
Sony Pictures Entertainment, which co -produces the film with Nintendo, will premiere the film on March 26, 2027, according to an announcement in Nintendo Today, a new content application that was presented during Nintendo Direct.
That means that fans have a two -year wait ahead to see what the film director Wes Ball, known for box office successes such as the Kingdom of the planet of the apes and The labyrinth corridor Trilogy has been cooking.
According to the reports, Ball is producing the film with Joe Hartwick JR under its producer called Oddball Entertainment, along with Shigeru Miyamoto, who created the series of games with Takashi Tezuka, and former Marvel founder, Avi Arad.
Miyamoto said when the adaptation of the film was announced for the first time in 2023 that he had been working on a live action adaptation Zelda’s legend “For many years with Avi Arad.”
“I have asked Avi-san to produce this movie with me, and now we have officially started the development of the film with Nintendo very involved in production. It will take time until its completion, but I hope you expect to see it,” Miyamoto wrote in an X post.
What do we know so far about the film adaptation of the Legend of Zelda?
Unfortunately, at the time of writing, there are not many details about what we can expect, with the casting and the plot not yet revealed, but it is likely that we can expect a princess named Zelda, an adventurous swordsman called Link, and an evil villain called Ganondorf.
