A junior hockey player was unconscious during a fight Tuesday night, which turned out that the game was suspended.
The defense of the American Terrell Goldsmith, 19-year-old, and Ashton Cumby of the Seattle Thunderbirds dropped their gloves just after a confrontation at the beginning of the second period.
The couple exchanged blows, and the Goldsmith helmet was eliminated. Shortly after his helmet went out, Cumby got a strong blow that sent Goldsmith unconscious, while fell face to face on the ice.

The coach of the Americans ran towards the ice, and the coach of Thunderbirds also left their respective bank to help attend Goldsmith. The incident was so scary that the cameras did not show Goldsmith in the ice attended by coaches. You could clearly see teammates calling coaches frantically.
Goldsmith was stretched from ice and, according to the reports, offered the crowd a thumb up before being taken to an ambulance.
The Americans published on Wednesday morning with an update on Goldsmith.
“Terrell Goldsmith remains in the hospital this morning under observation. Upon arriving at the hospital last night, he was awake, receptive and in a good mood. The American tri-cities appreciate the words of concern and support for Goldsmith. We will continue to update their state,” the statement was read.
After Goldsmith’s injury, the game was delayed and then suspended. The Western Hockey League said the game “will be reprogrammed at a later date.”
The Thunderbirds had a 2-0 advantage at the time of suspension.

“The decision to suspend the Whl game last night between Seattle and Tri-City was not taken light. After the ice incident, coaches and players of both clubs were consulted, along with several officials inside and outside the ice in the building and from the WHL office,” said the WHL statement.
“Collectively, the decision was made to suspend the game for concern for the well -being of Terrell Goldsmith, as well as the emotional state of the players in the lists of Thunderbirds and American.”
“The game will be rescheduled on a later date, although these conversations have not yet taken place as we continue to prioritize the well -being of Terrell.”
The Americans published another update on Goldsmith to X on Thursday, where they thanked everyone for their support for Goldsmith and said he had been discharged from the hospital on Wednesday night and resting at home.
When the game resumes, Goldsmith, if he could play, and Cumby would not play in the rest of the game, since both received specialties of fighting and misconduct of the game for a “staging fight.”

The whl considers organized fights when players drop their gloves immediately after the confrontation and do not get involved in the play before fighting. Organized fights were prohibited in 2012.
Goldsmith was recruited by the Arizona coyotes, now the Utah Hockey Club, in the fourth round of the NHL 2023 Draft. He signed a three -year entry level contract with the team in October 2024.
