Hoda Kotb recently revealed that her eight -year -old daughter, Haley Joy, discovered her battle of breast cancer while reading her book.
On Tuesday, September 23, Jenna Bush Hager’s episode Open book Podcast, the 61 -year -old American transmission journalist, the television personality and the author admitted that her relationship with her daughters has changed since she left NBC’s morning program Today.
Kotb, Haley’s mother and Hope Catherine, six years old, shared how Haley learned of a great chapter of her life.
Remembering, she said: “I saw Haley reading my book, and there are probably many things that she doesn’t know. She says: ‘Did you have breast cancer?’ I’m like, ‘My God!
Despite being surprised by Haley’s discovery, Kotb felt happy to enjoy more significant conversations with both daughters in recent months.
“The fact is that we know ourselves as people, humans. Not only mom or, you know, or a child,” he said.
For those who do not know, the mother of two children was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 and to treat it, she underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery in March 2007. Since her treatment she was completed, she has been living free of cancer.
