Duke led for up to 12 years in the first half, but Houston was able to reduce it to six, since none of the teams operated offensively.
But the second half was all Duke from the beginning. When the Blue Devils reached an advantage of 14 points, Houston, had a period in which seven of his eight shots were lost.
After that, however, Houston had a 10-0 race to reduce it to six with just under five minutes to the end, since DKE went out to a stretch of more than seven minutes of not hitting a shot. But, the winner of the wooden award, Flagg, drained a three with just over three minutes to do it to make it a nine -point game.

The two teams shared the longest winning gusts in the NCAA that enter the contest: Houston is now 18 years old, while Duke broke at 15.
Flagg ended with a maximum of 27 points, but his possible last shot in a Duke uniform will be one that he would like to forget soon.
Houston faces Florida on Friday night for the national title.
