How to press the bench correctly? NFL, the NBA sports doctor weighs

Political experts and social networks quickly took the opportunity to make viral the moment when the socialist candidate of the City Hall of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, fought to press a supposedly loaded bar with an estimate of 135 pounds.

During the annual open streets of Men’s Day in Brooklyn last weekend, Mamdani could not press the weight alone and required a full bar support from an observer.

“If you can’t hit that, it’s like a slap for your virility,” said Dr. Chad Teague, NFL sports doctor and NBA, Pak Gazette Digital.

The NFL and NBA sports chiropractor, Dr. Chad Teague, told Pak Gazette Digital that the key to the proper form of bank press is a committed nucleus, stable feet and a correct placement of the hand. (@__ eyeg/dr. Chad Teague)

“I think Biden could probably raise more than that,” Teague said.

“I think Trump could lift more than Mamdani,” he added. “Safety.”

Teague is a chiropractic doctor based in Cleveland, where he directs Code Chiro, a practice that co -founded with his wife. Together, they treat professional athletes, including NFL stars such as Myles Garrett, David Njoku, Jarvis Landry, Raheem Mostert and Denzel Ward, as well as NBA players such as Jonathan Kumina of the warriors of the Golden State and Tre’haun Mann of the Charlotte Hornets, among others.

“You want to have your feet more grounded on the ground and when he started lifting, his feet got up,” Teague said. “That is a good fight sign.”

Mamdani apparently slides to the scandals surrounding Eric Adams in a new video: “I have something to hide”

The Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, turned to social networks for the Mamdani brand as “Mamscrawny” and Andrew Cuomo said of his rival: “This guy cannot bank their own body weight, much less carry the weight of leading the most important city in the world.”

Teague told Pak Gazette Digital that the spotter was superfluous, but does not resemble mamdani exercises.

“Usually, most people do not have points at 135,” he said. “In general, it is a heating weight for most men in medium age.”

Teague encourages Mamdani to enter the gym, starting first with the correction of the form, since the candidate for mayor of New York is at risk of injuries.

It also emphasizes the importance of the appropriate technique for gym attendees of all levels.

Teague advises to start with a complete warming, including flexions or rotator sleeve exercises such as external rotations with bands. In addition, it recommends establishing a solid base with stable feet, involving the nucleus and guaranteeing the correct placement of the hand.

The sports doctor advises to incorporate exercises that are directed to the key muscles involved in a bank press, such as the pectoralis major, certain triceps muscles and the rotator sleeve for stabilization, at least once a week. For the blood to flow, it is recommended to make movements such as Turkish attire, inclined bench press or flat bank.

Teague mentioned that the athletes that trains use land mining presses and single arm movements to strengthen the previous side of the shoulder and chest.

“Myles Garrett definitely has to be the strongest person I have worked with, and if not, that would be a surprise,” Teague said. “Raheem has to be there.”

For beginner lifters, in particular, Teague advises that lifters must start with 10-20 repetitions using a more manageable bar or a minimum weight to effectively cek their shoulders for the movement.

“Learn how your body reacts to 8-10 repetitions to a certain weight and then see how your body recovers,” he said. “Then, maybe try to add some weight next time.”
