The Sindh government has launched the Pink Ev Scooty scheme to distribute free electric scooters to women throughout the province.
Directed by the Department of Public Transportation and Transportation and implemented by the Transits Massas Authority of Sindh, the initiative aims to improve mobility and promote the independence of students and professionals who work.
Eligible applicants must be permanent residents of Sindh, have a valid motorcycle or car driving license and be registered in an educational or employee institution.
The beneficiaries must also agree not to sell or sub -lead the SCOOTY for a minimum of seven years.
The preselected applicants will be selected through a transparent voting process carried out in the presence of media and monitored by a committee that includes representatives of the transport departments, special taxes and finance, as well as members of the press. The selected candidates will undergo a road safety skill test before the final allocation.
The scheme also includes training, registration, helmet provision and access to the EV load infrastructure. Applications must be sent online through the official website of the Transits Mass authority of Sindh.

Last month, the Government of Sindh announced a scheme to grant ‘pink’ free ‘pink scooters to women through a lottery system, aimed at empowering traveling women in the province.
Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced the initiative during a press conference in Karachi, highlighting the government’s commitment to support women’s mobility.
“A driving license is mandatory for women to participate in the scheme,” said Sharjeel Memon, adding that Lucky Draw will take place in an open event.
The initiative follows the launch of the Government of the Provincial Government of the ‘Pink Bus’ service in 2023, dedicated to the passengers.
Sharjeel Memon also announced plans to enter a ‘Pink Taxi’ service, with women drivers at the wheel.
