Bravo’s long-running cooking competition show, best chefreturns for a 23rd season with Best Chef: Carolinasbringing the culinary battle to the southern United States.
This season, the chefs will head to the culinary hub of Charlotte, North Carolina, and several episodes were also filmed in Greenville, South Carolina. This means there will be plenty of ingredient-focused Carolina challenges, Southern cooking inspirations, and various outdoor and farming tasks.
Fifteen “cheftestants” will compete through various challenges, immunities and Quickfire eliminations for a grand prize of $250,000, a feature of food and wine magazine and other cash prizes totaling more than $150,000. The winner will also have the opportunity to appear at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, host a keynote dinner at the James Beard House, and be featured at the James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards.
Additionally, for the first time, this year’s lineup includes a pair of identical twins (Brandon Dearden and Jonathan Dearden) and life partners (Jennifer Lee Jackson and Justin Tootla) competing against each other.
