- Google Beam’s first compatible hardware comes from HP, and costs $ 25K
- You must still pay separately by a Google license
- HP also has new microphones for your daily video calls
HP has shared more details of the first 3D video communication solution for companies, developed together with Google Beam, since it seems to make calls of holographic videoconference come true.
Previously known as Project Starline, the newly named ‘HP Dimension with Google Beam’, uses the Google platform, which promises experienced 3D video calls without glasses or headphones.
HP says that workers could see a 28% increase in the withdrawal of memory when talking with colleagues who use Google Beam, while benefiting from 39% more non -verbal communication.
HP dimension
HP says that technology offers realistic depth, color and presence in individual virtual meetings.
The hardware consists of six high -speed camera, adaptive lighting and space audio to create real -size images with natural visual contact on a 65 -inch light field screen, it means that users do not need to wear headphones or glasses, as they would do with an Apple Vision Pro.
From launch, technology admits Zoom Rooms and Google Meet, but also offers interoperability with Microsoft and Webex equipment, which covers most bases.
However, there are some limitations, for example, Google Beam requires a white and white background for optimal performance and realistic projections.
So, there is the price. At $ 24,999, it is not a cheap kit, and companies will require separate licenses for Google Beam technology, an essential tool to unlock hardware capabilities. Salesforce and Deloitte are among the first business clients committed to HP Dimension with Google Beam.
A launch later in 2025 will see that the units arrive in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Japan.
In the same breath, HP also lifted the wrapping of its new Poly Studio A2 audio bridge and table microphone to improve communications and interactions in more conventional video calls.
With margaritas chain support for up to eight microphones, Noiseblocki for a smart background sound suppression and simple integration with another Poly Studio hardware, early orders open this month for shipping in September 2025, with prices that begin at $ 549 and $ 329 respectively.
