HRCP demands the application of the minority rights bill


LAHORE:

The Pakistan Human Rights Commission (HRCP) has expressed a deep concern about the extraordinary delay in the application of the Minority Rights Law of the National Commission and urged the Government to implement it without further delay to guarantee the protection of the fundamental rights of minorities.

In an open letter addressed to President Asif Ali Zardari and the Federal Law Minister, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, the president of HRCP, Asad Iqbal Butt, said that the bill was approved by Parliament on May 12, 2025 and sent by presidential assent.
