Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster are clearly starting the year 2026 on a love note, and the couple was spotted sharing PDA moments during a beach getaway in Costa Rica.
The Tony Award-winning actors were seen soaking up the sun and surfing on Jan. 3, offering a relaxed and intimate look at their relationship as they welcomed the new year together.
Photos from the outing show the couple cooling off in the ocean, smiling and hugging as the waves rolled in.
In one snap, Jackman, 57, hugs Foster, 50, as she clings to him as a wave approaches.
In another, they walk hand in hand through the water, looking completely at ease.
Foster wore a navy blue bikini paired with a matching swim skirt, while Jackman opted for a black and white swimsuit with a tropical floral print.
The romantic getaway comes just months after the couple made their red carpet debut in October 2025.
They were out together at the Los Angeles premiere of Jackman’s film. blue sung songwearing coordinated black outfits and marking a major milestone in their relationship.
A source close to Foster later said PEOPLE“They are in love and were really excited to walk the carpet together.”
The source added: “The drama is now behind them and they have built a solid foundation of trust. They are both giddy and happy and excited to share their future together.”
Their relationship developed after both actors divorced.
Jackman separated from Deborra-lee Furness in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage and they share two adult children.
Foster filed for divorce from Ted Griffin in October 2024; The former couple share a seven-year-old daughter, Emily.
Jackman and Foster have known each other for more than two decades and first crossed paths in the early 2000s in Broadway circles.
They later worked together on the revival of The music manwith performances starting in 2022 after pandemic delays.
talking to PEOPLE That year, Foster warmly reflected on their bond, saying, “The best thing that’s happened out of all this is that I’ve made a new friend, something you’d never imagine,” before adding, “He’s a dream, so kind and talented, and he’s even more generous. It’s pretty fantastic.”
Now, as the year 2026 begins, the couple seems deeply connected, relaxed and openly affectionate, embracing both the moment and what lies ahead for them together.
