- Chad powers has been renewed for season 2
- Hulu’s sports comedy already has a “beginning, middle and end in mind.”
- A release window has not yet been confirmed
Spoilers for the end of Chad powers season 1.
If you enjoyed Chad powers Season 1, I bring good news. Hulu (and Disney+ internationally) has renewed the Glen Powell-directed sports comedy, so you can breathe a sigh of relief afterwards. that suspense.
The first season introduced us to Russ Holliday, a disgraced football player who gets a second chance by going undercover as Chad Powers. However, in the end, Chad’s true identity is revealed, but not to everyone.
This revelation sets the course for future episodes. Powell told The Hollywood Reporter that there’s a lot more of the Russ/Chad story to explore, and that it was planned from the beginning.
“The reality is that there is much more story to tell,” he said. “There was a build from the beginning for an arc of what Catfish would look like. So we have a beginning, a middle and an end in mind.”
“But people have to tune in and show us that they want to watch it. We believe in this show. I think we have a successful show here and one that the world is really going to love. If we have the privilege of doing a second season, we have some fun things in mind.”
What could we see in Chad Powers season 2?
Look
Now that Chad powers has been renewed, there is an opportunity to delve deeper into his character and his struggles to keep up appearances. After all, protecting your true identity from being revealed comes first.
But when you’re in the spotlight, it’s no easy task, and series creator Michael Waldron told TechRadar: “The point we’re making [with the series] “It’s just that things are going to get more difficult from here and it’s not going to be easy to do this and see it through to the end.”
He added that the show is very much about identity and self-acceptance, saying, “I continue to be interested in these people who are seemingly adored and find themselves in really difficult situations, and have to deal with their identity and figure out who they really are.”
I would definitely be interested to see how Russ would handle it if more people discovered his deception. Is it possible for him to redeem himself or would that mean he will never be able to play again?
I’ll be patiently waiting for season 2 to arrive to see how big this web of lies can get, and of course I’m also hoping for more laugh-out-loud moments.
