HVT offers reward of Rs 4 million among 10 terrorists killed in IBO

Ten terrorists, including one high value target (HVT), were killed in separate Intelligence Based Operations (IBO) in Kalat districts in Balochistan and Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the army’s media wing said on Thursday.

Two khawarij were killed at an IBO in DI Khan’s Kulachi area, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement. Fitna al-khawarji refers to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the group of terrorist groups based in Afghanistan.

“During the performance of [the] In the operation, his own troops effectively attacked the Khawarij location. As a result, two khawarij, including Kharji chieftain Dilawar, were sent to hell,” the statement read.

Dilawar was wanted by law enforcement agencies for his involvement in terrorist activities, and the government had announced a reward of Rs 4 million on his head, the ISPR said, adding that arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists.

Meanwhile, security forces carried out another IBO in Kalat district on December 24 (Wednesday) over the alleged presence of terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy, Fitna al Hindustan, which refers to Baloch separatist terrorist groups.

During the operation, its own forces attacked the terrorists’ location and after an intense exchange of fire, eight Indian-sponsored terrorists were sent to hell, another ISPR statement said. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists, who were still actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.

Disinfection operations are being carried out to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists found in the area, while the relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm and Istehkam” (approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue in full swing to eliminate the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.

The president and the prime minister praise the forces

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid rich tribute to the security forces for carrying out successful operations against terrorists, terming it a strong message to the enemies of peace and stability.

In a statement issued by the presidency, Zardari said the elimination of the terrorists demonstrated the determination of Pakistan’s security institutions to safeguard the country and protect its people.

He praised the exceptional bravery and professional capabilities of the security forces, stating that their sacrifices and vigilance were essential to the defense of national security and public safety.

The president said that such successful operations reflected the determination of the State to thwart the designs of hostile elements seeking to undermine peace in the country. He reiterated the nation’s full confidence in the armed forces and security agencies in their fight against terrorism.

In a separate statement by the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz Sharif also praised the security forces for their successful operations against terrorists.

The prime minister praised the forces for neutralizing the terrorists during the operation and said that under the vision of the Azm-e-Istehkam government, the security forces were achieving great successes against terrorism.

Sharif said the entire nation stood shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan’s armed forces in the war against terrorism.

He reaffirmed the government’s firm determination to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and to continue decisive actions against elements that threaten the peace and stability of the country.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the sacrifices of the security personnel would not be in vain and the government remained fully committed to ensuring lasting peace, security and stability across Pakistan.
