emotion for Assassin’s Creed Shadows is growing as we race towards the March 20th release date.
I recently visited Ubisoft Quebec to get hands-on with the game and get a behind-the-scenes look at development. During my visit, I spoke to key developers and quizzed them on their favorite elements of the game that haven’t been talked about much until now, but were very excited for fans to see.
I first spoke to Associate Game Director Simon Lemay-Comtois, who identified something about the people you’ll discover out in the world. Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
“I think the allies you can recruit, like their individual stories and personalities, and the actors who play some of them are the coolest part that we haven’t fully revealed yet.”
This relates to the party of additional characters that you can collect in Darkness Who will settle in the game’s hiding area after meeting them?
The game’s director, Charles Benoit, looked toward the narrative when I asked him the same question, saying that the most exciting thing we still don’t see more of is “the way stories unfold.”
“I think players will really like the story structure,” referring to the game’s use of flashbacks to let both characters understand their backstories, as well as the dual perspective of the world and the overall narrative.
“So you have a mix of exploring and making the world open and then leaving [and seeing] past events of your life. And I think the way it’s structured is pretty cool and quite different from others Assassin’s Creed Games, so I can’t wait to see what people will think about it.”
History is something I’m really interested in learning more about myself. Even after several hours hands-on with the game, and experiencing a lot of intrigue and interesting hooks, I’m still in the dark about what’s happening in the game.
