- New reference points suggest that RTX 5070 is up to 20% faster than RTX 4070
- It is ready for the launch on March 5, in the launch preparation of the Rx 9000 AMD Rx 9000 series
- The reports suggest that RTX 5070 will not face the same stock problems as its Blackwell counterparts
The launch of the GPU alignment of the NVIDIA RTX 5000 series is apparently about to end, since the RTX 5060 desktop has not been officially announced, with the RTX 5070 scheduled for its launch on March 5. However, we may already have an idea of what this medium range GPU could bring to the table.
As reported by WCCFTECH, the reference leaks reveal that the RTX 5070 will have a performance up to 20% better than its predecessor, the RTX 4070. This comes into conflict with the statements of NVIDIA in CES 2025 that the RTX 5070 would be equivalent to RTX 4090 in performance – in particular, the elevations of RTX 5080 and 5070 ti on the GPUs of The previous generation were not significant enough to completely corroborate the other statements of Team Green.
The RTX 4070 is a significantly weaker GPU compared to the RTX 4090, so the performance statements of the RTX 5070 were crazy, to say the least (even considering the impressive function of generating multiple frame of DLSS 4). However, in terms of the direct comparison with its predecessor, the elevation (if legitimate) could be reasonable: Wccftech highlighted the RTX 5070 that scored 187,414 in a vulkan (a graphic API used in most AAA games) versus the RTX 4070 156,601 points.
Fortunately, the reports suggest that the RTX 5070 will probably not face the same stock and supply problems seen with the Blackwell GPU already launched. If prices are not inflated and end up well above MSRP (as they did with the RTX 5090 flagship), this could be a solid GPU update, it simply does not wait for the performance of RTX 4090.
Is MFG a good reason for an update?
The increase in generational performance suggested in Vulkan for RTX 5070 sounds decent, but the generation of multiple frames of Team Green (MFG) has the potential to bring this to a higher level. I am very aware of the criticisms surrounding the picture generation software (“fake frameworks”, I know), but since the ghost is significantly reduced with the new model, it is an addition that should not be ignored.
DLSS 4 improvements for all RTX GPU users are enough for me DLSS 3 quality mode in the games, and can still enjoy a constant picture speed.
If you already have a GPU of the RTX 4000 series (which has the generation of regular DLSS 3 frame, not MFG), it is likely that you better stay with it; It has also been revealed that some Blackwell GPUs are sending with missing Rops, an inconvenience of I ‘D certainly wants to avoid.
However, if you are still in a GPU of the RTX 3000 series, an update to an RTX 5070 seems to be sensible enough according to these reference leaks. Its launch is just around the corner, and I hope there are no important problems this time.
