- David Denman has talked about his surprise about who he is playing in Pacifier Season 2
- It is one of the many new additions to the cast of this season.
- Denman was not 100% sure what role he was auditioning
David Denman has raised the lid in the hearing process for the paper in which he finally landed Pacifier Season 2.
Before the return of the HBO Max program, I sat with Denman to find out if and/or when I knew what character would be interpreting, and spoke about having the creative freedom to give life to someone who does not exist in DC comics. Complete spoilers continue immediately for the premiere of this seasonalso known as ‘the ties that are grinding’. Return now if you haven’t seen it yet.
Despite the trades, almost confirming that Denman would appear in PacifierThe second season of last June, its revelation of characters remained strictly secret until the first episode of the series was broadcast last night (August 21) or during the night (August 22), depending on where you live.
‘The ties that Grind’ finally revealed that the mysterious individual Denman would be playing. In summary: it is Keith Smith, also known as the brother of the titular antihero.
It is a revelation with a great turn. In fact, the seventh episode of last season revealed that Chris accidentally killed Keith when they were children: Keith falling, hitting the head in a rock and having a seizure of life after Chris hit him during the last fight that his father Auggie prepares regularly to earn money.
However, one of the best deliveries of HBO Max Shows takes place in two realities. The first, also known as the DC Universe (DCU), is the one PacifierChris Smith comes from. The second is a parallel universe in which a drunken Smith stumbles through the quantum deployment chamber (QUC). It is in this alternative dimension that Keith and Auggie are not only alive, but, together with the Chris Smith of this world, they are heroes celebrated that operate as a group of style of the Justice League known as the top trio.
For Denman, the opportunity to play a totally original creation, a written by the friend of DC Friend and DC Studios, James Gunn, nothing less, is one that called “incredibly exciting” during our conversation. And, while Denman “had the feeling” that he portrayed Chris Smith’s older brother, who also passes through the pseudonym of the superhero Captain Triumph, in the project of chapter one of DCU if he got the role successfully, he was not completely sure that his personal theory was proven correctly.
“I have been a friend of James for 20 years,” Denman said. “I’m also a good friend of Steve Agee [who plays John Economos] – We made the movie Glow [written and directed by Gunn] Together, and Freddit [Stroma, who plays Adrian Chase/Vigilante] did 13 hours: Benghazi’s secret soldiers A few years before that, so it was not as if it were getting completely cold [to this show’s cast].
“But, I didn’t know who I was auditioning. I had the feeling on the fictitious sides [excerpts of a script that aren’t used in the official production]But he was gathering two and two together.
“Once I knew [I’d got the part] And that Keith was not in the comics, he created freedom because you are not up to anything that has come before, “Denman continued.” I had to have certain things, it had to be as big as John [Cena, who plays Chris Smith] And it looks like the child who played Keith in the first season, but there was a lot of freedom to discover the character. James and I talked about who this guy was, how was his relationship with this alternative version of his father and what means being a hero in this world to create that background history.
“I also had to discover this camaraderie that Keith has with her father and Chris. Robert [Patrick, who plays Auggie] And John already had chemistry because they had worked together before, so he needed to jump and see how Keith fit that dynamic. James also creates a security network to fail while we filmed because he wants us to advance or is busy rewriting the script, so you can throw different things, which was incredibly exciting. “
