I fear moderate shake in the northern region of Pakistan and Hindu Kush

Mild earthquake tremors were felt in several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir Azad, Punjab and parts of early Afghanistan on Wednesday.

According to the National Seismic Monitoring Center (NSMC), the earthquake measured 5.3 on the Richter scale.

Tremors were reported in the areas of Malakand, Swat, Shangla, Chitral, Abbottabad, Mardan, Mohmand, Swabi and Lower Dir.

In Azad Kashmira, the residents in Samahni and the nearby areas also felt the tremor.

In Punjab, they felt tremors in the Zafarwal region.

Meanwhile, in the Afghanistan neighbor, an earthquake also hit the Kush Hindu region, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

The EMSC said the tremor had a magnitude of 5.6 and occurred at a depth of 121 kilometers. The epicenter was located about 164 kilometers east of Baghlan, a city with a population of approximately 108,000, according to the EMSC.

The EMSC had initially informed of the magnitude of the earthquake as 6.4 before reviewing it.

Until now, no victims or damage have been reported.
