- Dyson has announced the spot+scrub ai robot, which will go on sale in 2026
- It has the AI mapping and spots detection, in addition to roller mandatory
- There is also an auto-vacío spring without bag with water tanks and mop cleaning
Dyson does many things extremely well, but historically the robot vacuum cleaners have not been one of them. Its current effort, the Dyson 360 VIS Nav, was reduced thanks to its lack of characteristics, an unjustifiably high price and inexcusable navigation problems.
So he was more than a little surprised to see, hidden in the current tsunami of Dyson’s new releases, a new robot vacuum cleaner. On paper, Dyson Spot+Scrub AI seems much more promising than its predecessors. Frankly, it must be: the market is moving at dizzying speed, and today’s best robot vacuum cleaners are incredibly capable and full of characteristics.
The USP is in the name: this bot uses AI to detect spots, and then come and go on them until they know they are gone. Dyson says that he can identify almost 200 objects and substances, using and vibrant green laser that is in the AI and the laser vibrant that is similar to the one in the heads of the floor of the best manual vacuum cleaners of Dyson.
I obtain a preview in the Dyson event presented in Berlin (which is executed adjacent to IFA 2025) and the main thought that caught my attention is size. This bot is really very thick compared to competition models, both in width and robot height itself, and the size of the dock. Not one for small houses, then.
Inside, there are lidar and ‘ai vision’ for mapping and navigation, something that this model really needs to succeed, because all the elegant characteristics of the world do not compensate for a robovac that cannot find its path, as Vis Nav demonstrated.
The previous Dyson Robacs have focused completely on the Broca de la Viomador, but this is the first that can also mop. In addition, the maps configuration looks good: there is a roller mop that continuously feeds on fresh water as it turns, and can go aside by 1.6 inches / 4 cm to approach the edges of the rooms. I saw that mop in action: I look at the video above.
This is a relatively new style of robovac mop, but it looks like a winner. He was impressed in the Eureka J20, and is becoming more popular among the new releases: a particularly advanced version appears in the new Dreame Robovac, for example.
Thin, bad and clean machine
The other great supervision with Dyson’s previous robovac was that he came alone with the most basic docks, who loaded the bot but nothing more. Here, the brand has gone further to rectify the problem. The spring that accompanies the spot+scrub ai can not only empty the dust, but also fill the water tanks on board and wash and dry the muds of the traperation.
In fact, Dyson has introduced part of his considerable vacuum experience in the self-life configuration, adding cyclones and using a bag without a bag that eliminates continuous annoyance and the cost of buying new bags.
I am a little disappointed to see Dyson opting for a more generic aspect here. While the previous D form was divisive (the Techradar reviewer liked it; no one else did), the purple blue scheme was distinctively Dyson, and was quite taken with the fact that everything seemed to put a Dyson Stick vaccine in a hydraulic press.
Here, there are some touches of red and purple, in addition to a wink to the vacuum cyclones in the upper part of the garbage of the garbage, but it is not as unique as the VIS Nav. Although a design decision that could raise some eyebrows is the transparent Dustin on the dock. Dyson is convinced that everyone wants to see what has been absorbed: I will leave you to make your own call in this regard.
If you can exceed size, the following obstacle could be the price, which at the time of writing is TB. The brand can escape with the loading of a premium in the markets where the road is leading: its wireless vacuum cleaners genuinely push the envelope when it comes to performance and characteristics, but Dyson does not have the same cache in the robot vacuum space. I am interested in seeing how this bot is positioned in the broader market.
