- Polar is throwing a band without screen, confirmed in a recent press release
- It is a free portable game for distraction on September 3
- There are very few details available, but it will definitely be subscription free.
I learned for the first time on polar when I looked for alternatives to the best Garmin watches, but polar as a company has long existed: Polar Electro really developed the first wireless heart rate monitor in the world, presenting the patent in 1980.
While the company may have passed behind some of its competitors in smartwatch popularity bets since then, Polar makes solid and reliable devices that are regularly classified into our best watches and the best lists of heart rate monitors.
Now, however, Polar is moving to a new category: eating Whoop lunch by throwing a wrist without a screen.
However, what excites me is not just a new challenger in the portable space without screen; It is the fact that this is a Whoop alternative that is completely subscription.
I have not published my review for the WHOOP MG, the last high -end substate that will be released by Whoop, but to shorten a long history: there is much to love, especially detailed analyzes. While it is not ideal for runners, it is probably the most useful laptop for hybrid athletes and gymnastics bunnies that I have tried in a long time, thanks to its SINT -style labeling system, creator of advanced training and recovery tools.
However, it is not perfect: the closing system frequently falls apart when the band is removed, and the subscription cost is very steep: the WHOOP MG reaches an amazing amount of £ 349 / $ 359 / au $ 629 per year, With the cheapest level reaching £ 169 / $ 199 / Au $ 299 per year. For this cost, you get the device together with an annual subscription to the Whoop application.
Polar has a premium subscription level in its application, but it is specifically for its physical conditioning program function, a tool for the generation of adaptive training plans. Base analysis collected by polar devices are free, which makes their devices a fairly good value: once a device has been bought, it can be used without spending more money.
I am really excited about the perspective of a budget whoop alternative without the expensive annual subscription. Polar operating watches, such as the Polar Grit X2 Pro, and heart rate monitors, such as Polar H10, are usually very well reviewed, which is a good omen for the laptop.
Although a price has not been released for the band without screen, we do not even know its name, we have a release date: September 3, as mentioned in a Polar press release.
The launch establishes that: “The next polar laptop will not only be the first wrist device without a brand screen, but will also be an alternative without subscription to other health bands and physical conditioning trackers in the market.
“By eliminating the need for a screen, this new category of portable devices captures accurate ideas and data in the background without enduring the daily life of users, mixing without problems in their routines as they advance in their day.
“Users can verify their statistics and progress every time they adapt to them, staying connected to their dream, activity, health and physical state, without demanding their attention.”
Certainly it looks a lot like a cheaper Whoop, but we will know more surely closer to the release date. Wait for a detailed comparison when it falls, along with my full review of Whoop Mg soon.
