Marshall has revealed the newest model in its medium -sized Bluetooth speakers line, the Marshall Kilburn III, which will be launched worldwide on May 27, 2025.
To compete with the best Bluetooth speakers, the Marshall Kilburn III has made some drastic improvements about its predecessor. The new model has more than 50 hours of game time, dust waterproofing and water IP54, as well as a more luxurious design.
But with these improvements comes an inflated price. The Marshall Kilburn III has a list price of $ 379 / £ 299 / au $ 599, which is $ 80 / £ 50 / au $ 100 more than the cost of Kilburn II at the launch. That said, there are many updates and additions to explore the last speaker of Marshall, as I discovered when I could try it in Marshall’s HQ in Stockholm, Sweden.
Here are my initial thoughts on the striking New Kilburn III.
A KILBURN SAUCE III
So I will put my cards on the table, I don’t get Montones of time to listen to Kilburn III. The main reason for my trip to Stockholm was to see Marshall’s first attempt in a sound bar with the Marshall Heston 120. But I got a few minutes to listen through a selection of clues of variable genres, in a space that essentially imitated a living room.
To cut the persecution, Kilburn III caused me a good first impression. The Marshall audio team has placed a lot of emphasis on the “true” true “true” stereo sound of the speaker, aimed at providing a clear and powerful audio, regardless of where it is standing. And that seemed to be effective for me, since I walked through space, with a pleasant sound without distortion at all times.
In addition, Kilburn III is designed to distribute a rounded and “harmonious” sound firm. I was surprised by the impressive balance in the frequencies, even stronger volumes. And that is not surprising given the dynamic volume technology of the speaker, which automatically adjusts the serious, media and acute depending on the volume in which you are reproducing clues.
In fact, Kilburn III has a completely forwarded acoustics to take the step forward of his predecessor, which impressed us in general, although we felt that there was a margin of improvement at the low level. But sound is not the only thing that has been refined; The construction and appearance of the speaker has also carried out a notch.
Many customers, Marshall told me, preferred the original Kilburn general aesthetics, which was launched 10 years ago. As a result, the company chose to base the newest model of Kilburn on its original, and I really liked its appearance.
Having previously lived in Kilburn, I have to say that this Bluetooth speaker is much more beautiful than the London district, after which it is named. It looks inspired by a retro -looking amplifier with a pin to turn on or off the tactile knobs for volume and reproduction control, and a “M” button to access prejustments. Kilburn III is available in black and brass or cream, with both color combinations playing with the premium sensation of the speaker.
Tune in the details
After crossing some of the technological specifications for Kilburn III, I really hope this is a significant step on its predecessor.
It has a broader frequency range, which is now reduced to 45Hz, up to 20 kHz typical. That should mean that it is even more capable of hitting those deep dark notes than Kilburn II. New and more powerful drivers should also mean that it gets a lot of energy from this speaker, but will have to wait for my full review to see if that is really the case.
However, something we can say with certainty is that Marshall Kilburn III is much more suitable for the use of bathroom or to take outside on a rainy day. This is because it now comes with an IP54 classification of dust and waterproof, a significant step of Kilburn II IPX2 protection.
Marshall told me that this model is intended to be more an “piece of interior declaration”, due to models such as the Marshall Emberton III III III and Marshall with IP67 and Marshall Middleton classification occupy the resistant space. But still, having that improved durability is a pleasant pleasant one to have.
Perhaps the greatest change in Kilburn III, however, is its battery life. Kilburn II offered more than 20 hours of play, which is solid, but nothing particularly prominent. However, Kilburn III really takes things to the next level, supplying more than 50 hours of play, really phenomenal things. As a reference, that is the longest battery life of any Marshall speaker to date, it is not bad, huh?
It could continue: you can adjust equalization through the renewed Marshall application; Use the speaker to load external devices; access to the connectivity of aircast; and even separate your elegant transport strap. But that’s all for now. I will come back soon to give my complete and filter thoughts about Kilburn III. That is, after having spent a little time trying here in Future Labs.
However, if you are already sold, you can take the Marshall Kilburn III now through the Marshall website. It will also be available to buy through selected retailers from June 10.
