- Zuckerberg believes that “developing superintelling is now in sight”
- He believes that AI glasses will become our dominant personal computer device
- The next 10 years will be a pivitol for the development of personal superintelligence.
In a letter that resembles one of Sam Altman’s long blog posts, Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg describes his vision of the future, where there is personal superintelligence for all, and there is not a single reference to the metach in it.
Zuckerberg also delivered the letter in the form of a monologue through his Instagram account.
Titled “Personal Superintelligence”, the article of more than 600 words sees Zuckerberg try to stamp his property in superintelligence. “Development of Superintelligence,” he says with confidence, “is now in sight.”
In words that slip exactly what the Operai CEO has recently said, Zuckerberg proclaims: “I am extremely optimistic that superintelligence will help humanity to accelerate our rhythm of progress. But perhaps even more important is that superintelligence has the potential to start a new era of personal empowerment where people will have a greater agency to improve the world in the directions they choose.”
Personal superintelligence
According to Zuckerberg, all with their own accessible superintelligence “will help you achieve your goals, they create what you want to see in the world, they experience any adventure, be a best friend for those who care and grow to become the person who aspires to be.”
In a nod to the goals ai Ai de Ray-Ban and Oakley of which the company is so proud, Zuckerberg says: “Personal devices such as the glasses that understand our context because they can see what we see, listen to what we hear and interact with us throughout the day will become our main computer devices.”
Personally, it seems a bit difficult to accept based on current evidence. While I have not yet had the pleasure of using Meta’s glasses, I have used AI devices such as Rabbit R1, which requires voice commands to do everything, and it is a slow and uncomfortable way to use AI compared to quickly write an application or open applications on a screen.
In exactly when we can expect this new era of personal superintelligence to be activated, Zuckerberg still seems to be covering its bets a bit: “The rest of this decade seems to be the decisive period to determine the path that this technology will take, and if the superintelligence will be a tool for personal empowerment or a force focused on replacing large frequencies of society.”
A force for good or evil
This battle between the AI used for good or evil seems to be an issue that is playing in the minds of the CEO lately. For example, Sam Altman could not decide if he was afraid of the power of Chatgpt 5 or amazed.
While predicting the imminent dawn of superintelligence seems to be the favorite hobby of technology CEO at this time, it seems that technology is being built towards a turning point where superintelligence becomes a reality. Hopefully movies are wrong about what happens later.
