IBM presents the FlashSystem C200 storage system and uses a large and fat SLC cache to offer similar TLC resistance at a low price

  • IBM FlashSystem C200 aims to replace HDD with high capacity flash storage
  • It offers a gross capacity of 1.1pb, 2.3pb effective, with 200,000 IOPS performance
  • This flash option is optimized for files, backups and sequential work loads

Pure Storage has been predicting the end of spinning discs for some time, and now IBM is looking to accelerate this change with the launch of the flashSystem System C200, a high -capacity flash -based storage system designed to replace traditional HDDs in companies while offering high density, resistance and lower operating costs.

IBM positions the C200 as a lower -cost flash alternative (“Use it as TLC, pay as QLC”, boast IBM) for file storage, backup repositories and workloads that can tolerate greater latency.
