This week was a bit quieter than the last ones we have had, but I was still full of essential technology news.
Apple faced ‘Scratchgate’ as the durability of his iPhone 17 Pro questioned, and we could try the new Gopro Max 2.
To catch up with these and more, move down for the seven largest technological news of the week.
7. Google joked with its Android Chrome operating system
In Snapdragon Summit 2025 of Qualcomm, the senior vice president of Google platforms and devices, Rick Osterloh, made fun of new details about Android that was integrated into Chromeos, confirming that he will fall next year.
We still have to see what the new and improved Chromeos will treat us, but the Qualcomm CEO has seen the operating system in action, calling it “incredible.”
This high praise must, of course, be taken with a pinch of salt: Qualcomm will provide chipsets for these next -generation chromeos devices and other projects such as Android XR, so it is unlikely to say something too critical. That said, it is still an exciting update that could help eliminate the competition of the computer operating system and make Microsoft finally make some adequate updates to Windows.
6. Sony established a date for Beyond the Spider-Viever, again
The third entry into the trilogy of films starring Miles Morales has a new release date, and is good but not great news.
This is because it will be launched on June 18, 2027, which is two weeks later that Beyond seeing the spiderThe launch date originally planned on June 4, 2027, as announced in Cinemacon in April.
That said, it is seven days before the launch date of June 25, 2027 had already retired. It is not clear why the schedule has been adjusted so much, but perhaps it is to better place the film among its peers, since it now has a better shock absorber between Pixar’s Gatto which is scheduled to arrive on June 4, 2027 and Shrek 5, with a launch of June 30, 2027.
5. We play Ghost of Yotei
Ghost of Yotei It is an enormously pleasant follow -up, full of action and frankly beautiful of the first game of the developer Sucker Punch in the series, Tsushima’s ghost.
The world of Ezo game is an outstanding characteristic of the game, and going anywhere is a joy. Landscapes and environments are exquisite and yearn to be explored, while the ability to identify distant points with their spyglass and the wonderful and interactive game map only serve to encourage that sensation of exploration and discovery.
The story of the protagonist ASU is exciting, and is a convincing character to play as and witness the changes in the course of the game, but perhaps the best thing about her is the skillful, receptive, visceral and bloody combat skills she has. Moving gently among the enemies in a lethal dance, each of their blows with any weapon you are wearing has a poetry for them, and there is nothing better in the game than to dominate the fight to dispatch the bosses or a group of bad.
While there is some repetition in the activities of the open world, some excellent characteristics are somewhat simplistic, and is only based on their predecessor. However, it still represents an excellent game and adventure of PS5, one that also looks exceptionally well in the PS5 Pro too. It is definitely an outstanding game of the year, and especially for fans of the first game and those desired a great adventure in the open world.
4. Google TV has Gemini
The QM9K TCL is the first Google TV to obtain the GEMINI AI Chatbot, a feature that raises the usefulness of the Google Smart TV interface. Techradar is currently reviewing the QM9K, and a higher priority was to give Gemini on Google TV a thorough execution.
Speaking with Gemini through the distant field microphone of television, we ask you to compile several films lists classified by its Rotten Tomatoes score and limit to which only the transmission services to which we subscribe. We were also able to obtain tips for the next trips and create surreal screenshots so that the TV is automatically showed when we enter the room.
Ultimately, Gemini proves to be a game change for Google TV, which otherwise occupies a low place in the totem among the best smart TV platforms. Google has announced that the Gemini will be added to select TCL and Hisense TVS at the end of this year, as well as the new Google TV streamer.
However, not all sets will be compatible with Gemini, since it has specific hardware requirements, but Google TV owners must be attentive to the function if an update is available.
3. GoPro took things to Max 2
Gopro is really and really in the 360 camera game after launching Max 2 this week, about six full years after the original Max. The ‘True 8K’ shooter is being presented at a party that is already being filled, with rivals Insta360 X5 and DJI Osmo 360 on the scene.
We had our hands in Max 2 before the launch, and from our in -depth tests and comparisons from side to side with our current superior selection, the Insta360 X5, the Max 2 offers the best image quality of all the small 360 cameras in ideal conditions. However, the image is a bit different with little light, where the rivals are better.
So, the Max 2 dethrones the Insta360 x5? Not quite, but Gopro has impressed us and established a competitive price: $ 500 / £ 450 / AU $ 850 sees that Max 2 sits between the pricer x5 and the osmo 360 cheaper. If it is already in the Gopro ecosystem with its accessories, then Max 2 could now be its superior 360 camera selection.
2. The hand of the Xbox was on request per order
After months of waiting, the ally of Rog Xbox and the ally of Rog Xbox X have finally risen to preordinate before their launch of October 16, and what is more important, we know how much they will cost.
Rog Xbox’s Ally will cost $ 599.99 / £ 499.99 / AU $ 999, while the Xbox Ally X Rog is priced at $ 999.99 / £ 799.99 / AU $ 1,599.
If you opt for the standard model, you will get a device with a 7 -inch screen that works with an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Among all in the X an AMD Ryzen AI Z2, 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage is puts.
We had the opportunity to get a preview of Allied Asus Rog Xbox in Gamescom 2025, and although we could see that we were able to play the best Xbox games on the march has its appeal, “the execution is difficult in the best of cases” and “the performance was a mixed bag.”
1. People reported scratched iPhones
Multiple iPhone 17 Pro users have resorted to social networks to complain that their beautiful smartphones are scratched too easily, which requires the fault of the decision to change to aluminum from the toughest titanium for the outer shell.
The IFIXIT team made a disassembly of the iPhone 17 Pro with its usual thoroughness, discovering that in fact there seems to be a vulnerability for the scratches around the high camera plateau on the back.
However, Apple states that ‘Scratchgate’ is exaggerated, saying that the shared online scratches of iPhone 17 professionals in Apple stores are, in fact, caused by worn magsafe positions. He argues that the ‘scratches’ are transferred materials of magsafe supports damaged to the iPhones.
That is undoubtedly an explanation, although time will say if Magsafe’s old supports are the only thing to blame, or if ‘Scratchgate’ is a major problem than Apple wants to admit at this time.
