This week, Chatgpt received an update, and Tom Holland returned to action as Spider-Man.
To catch up with all this and more of the world of technology and entertainment, move down for our weekly Icymi summary. There are some big stories that you will not want to miss.
Once you are up to date, be sure to also read our selections for the 7 new films and television programs to watch this weekend (August 8).
7. Spider-man put action

Attend
The filming is officially underway in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with people who go to Glasgow to see glimpses of the web in action.
We take a look at the new suit, which seems to pay tribute to Tobey Maguire and the character’s live action iterations of the character.
We also saw that the film will involve the first use of websling practices in one of the solo MCU films of Webslinger.
Finally, we could have obtained a provocation of the main villain of the film: myster negative, since the tanks that lead by the set are stamped with a logo that resembles the logo of the internal demons associated with the negative forces.
6. Samsung leaked her own headphones
Oh Samsung, you were so good! After canceling the escape of the image of Evan Blass in July, it seemed that all the noticed tipsters had been warned and dissuaded. But then, Oopsie, a medium products list with prices and images is put live, on Samsung Panama’s own site.
Two colors are shown (white and a very dark gray), and the price, at least in Panama, appears as $ 129. We are trying to make a joke on the auditory channel of Panama, but at times like these, it is really better to laugh.
The Galaxy Buds 3 Fe also seems to have silicone ears, but everything else is still conjecture since the product page does not include real specifications or characteristics, which is another indication that someone press the ‘publish’ button too early.
Buds 3 faith are the monitoring of original Buds Fe or ‘fan edition’. That’s right, there are no Buds 2 faith, so we really thought that Samsung was handling the launch of this potentially confusing iteration with delicacy and care …
5. Sonos announced a price increase
This week, Sonos announced that “at the end of this year, we plan to increase prices” in response to US tariffs.
Although the company no longer manufactures most of its products in China, which currently faces a 30%rate, makes its technology in Vietnam and Malaysia, which face tariffs of 20%and 19%, respectively (according to rates when writing on August 7).
Precisely, the increase in costs has not yet been announced, and we still do not know exactly when the price increase will come, but unless things change, it seems that a price increase is coming, so it is possible that you want to buy a speaker of Sonos sooner rather than later.
4. Harman Kardon faced Sonos
Audio Advice Live is an audio and consumption video program based in the United States that takes place annually in Raleight, North Carolina, and in this year’s event, which took place from August 1 to 3, 2025, we had the opportunity to see the next Harman Kardon sound bars.
The great news about the Enchant series is that it entails many of the same great features found in the sound and speakers of Sonos, including the reproduction of multiple rooms and the control based on applications. But enchanted sound leaves go beyond popular sound models, such as the Sono Arc Ultra, by offering Dolby Atmos and DTS support: X, along with an HDMI pass input to connect an external device such as an Xbox Series X or PS5 console.
Is the Enchant series prepared to bring Sonos? We will not know that until we have our hands in a system for review, but if Harman Kardon can nail the application of the equation, a point of recent pain for Sonos and its customer base, could provide a convincing alternative to the ecosystem of multiple sound rooms.
3. The Z Flip 7 was tortured

Attend
Since its launch, we, like many other testers, have been putting the new Samsung folding. But some testers lead things to the extreme when it comes to judging durability.
Jerryrigeverything seriously put Samsung’s new folding with a test that involved setting fire to the phone’s screens, bathing the device on the ground and trying to scratch each surface with a knife, before trying to break the phone in half.
Somehow, Z Flip 7 survived, but only shows that folding are not as weak as before.
2. Microsoft joked the future of Windows
A Microsoft executive shared her vision of Windows in 2030, making the affirmation quite bold that we will not use keyboards and mice to interact with our computers by then, but rather use our voice and AI. We have heard this before (remember when virtual attendees like Cortana [RIP] Were they going to do everything for us with simple voice commands?), And I am not convinced.
I do not want to talk to my computer when I am alone, much less in an occupied place or office, and there is a reason why we still use keyboards, mice and trackpads decades after these peripherals were created: they are still the fastest and most convenient way to interact with our computers for many people.
1. Chatgpt-5 released
After promoting their creation during the last two weeks, even saying that it was scared, Sam Altman and Openai finally presented GPT-5, the latest version of the digital brain that drives the chatgpt.
As expected, it is said that GPT-5 is better than its predecessor, apparently being more reliable than before, being more honest with the gaps in their knowledge instead of lying or hallucinating, as requested to AI, and is also destined to be better in mathematics and coding, which makes it a more useful vibes coding partner.
However, not everyone is happy. Many users have resorted to social networks to call the new “horrible” bot, since Chatgpt now only gives shorter answers with less personality, and the rapid limit also seems lower.
It may not do much for affected users to feel better about the situation, but OpenAI at least warned of this before the launch of GPT-5: to make fun of “probable hypo and abdominal capacity”, as Sam Altman said.
