The Superior Court of Islamabad (IHC) has prevented the Capital Development Authority (CDA) from taking measures and tents in the city.

Judge Inam Amin Minhas issued a written order during an hearing on a petition presented by Ghulam Moinul Haq Gilani.

The court has ordered all the parties involved to present para-abian comments within 15 days and ordered that punitive measures are not taken until the next hearing.

According to the petitioner’s lawyer, the CDA had issued directives on August 16, 2023, which was said to negatively affected the fundamental rights of the petitioner due to changes in the relevant legislation.

The case has been postponed until May 21 for additional procedures.

Previously, more than 360 guests were affected by food poisoning at a wedding reception in the city of Johar, Lahore, with more than 200 hospitalized and several reported in critical condition.

The incident occurred in a private tent in Satto Katla, reserved by Sarfraz, resident of Khayaban-E-amin, for his wedding ceremony.

According to initial reports, guests began to experience symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and severe abdominal pain shortly after serving food.

Emergency services responded promptly, and multiple ambulances transported the victims to several hospitals throughout LaHore.

It was reported that nine patients were in critical condition at the Lahore General Hospital. Other affected guests were treated at the Raiwind Indus hospital (27 patients), the Hospital of the University of Lahore (7), the Kasur DHQ hospital (more than 10) and the hospitals in Narowal (31).

Sarfraz blamed Marquesina’s management for serving anti -hygienic and lower quality food. In response, food security officials collected food samples for tests, and local authorities launched an investigation. A FIR was recorded, and the officials promised a strict action if negligence was confirmed.
