IKEA just launched a new motion-activated LED light that you can place anywhere and doesn’t require a smart home hub. The IKEA Gömpyssling light is completely wireless, and best of all, it’s super affordable: just $4.99 for a pair of two.
They’re incredibly useful: you can use them as night lights in your kids’ rooms, put one in the bathroom so you don’t get dazzled if you need to go get a drink at night, put them on your kitchen cabinets so you can see all the spices in the back, or put some in your closet so you can see your clothes better in the morning.

It’s a much quicker and easier option than using a smart light combined with a motion sensor, which would also require a smart home hub and cost much more to get the same result.
If you’re worried about e-waste, you’ll be happy to know that Gömpyssling little lights use replaceable AA batteries, so there’s no need to throw them away when they start to dim. Purchase a Stenkol charger with four Ladda batteries for $18.98 and you can keep your home beautifully lit for years to come.
