- IKEA has three new chargers for your consideration
- They all support the Qi2.0 wireless charging standard.
- These chargers are available for $9.99-$24.99 in the US.
IKEA’s love of practical home accessories and capital letters continues with the VÄSTMÄRKE series, a set of three wireless chargers compatible with the Qi2 standard, one of which has a useful hidden secondary function.
That charger is the VÄSTMÄRKE Wireless Charger (via Notebookcheck), yours for a reasonable $9.99 (we’re still waiting for international pricing and availability). It comes in one color, bright red, and looks a lot like a donut.
It supports the Qi2.0 standard and can charge at speeds up to 15W. It can also attach magnetically, so it will work with Apple MagSafe and Google Pixelsnap standards, and the integrated USB cable can be stored neatly inside the charger.
That double duty is the charger’s ability to act as a PopSocket-style stand for your phone: When it’s magnetically attached to a phone, you can open it up a bit to give you an easier way to grip your device with one hand.
Stands and bowls
Next we have the VÄSTMÄRKE wireless charging stand, yours for $24.99, and thanks to IKEA’s sensible naming strategy, you can probably round up what you get with this one: It’s like the first charger, but placed in a desk stand made of cork.
It supports 15W Qi2.0 charging and magnetic connectivity, so you can place your phone horizontally or vertically, and even use it as a nightstand for your phone or as a way to watch videos or make video calls without having to hold the phone.
Last but not least is the VÄSTMÄRKE Illuminated Wireless Charger – a wireless charger with a built-in light. This one can be yours for $24.99 and again covers the 15W Qi2.0 wireless charging standard like the other products.
With this, when you put your phone on charge, you also get warm and subtle ambient lighting around it, plus a small container where you can leave keys, rings or anything else you need to have within reach.
