- Ikea’s domestic energy solution has just been launched in the United Kingdom
- You can now obtain solar panels, EV loaders and heat pumps through Ikea
- Is working with third parties to provide these services
If you love IKEA’s smart house technology, then a real pleasure awaits you: the company has just launched its renewable energy solutions in the United Kingdom, which includes solar panels, heat pumps and EV loaders.
Through the IKEA website, you can request a free contribution for these SOLY or AIR services, depending on their interests, and discover how much installation of solar panels, a heat pump, a solar battery or the EV battery would cost for your home.
If you want to continue, unlike your IKEA furniture, this equipment is installed professionally (with the installation included in the price you quoted) and is also backed by a guarantee (the precise range depends on what you have installed, but the shortest we saw was 10 years).
According to what is being installed and if it meets certain criteria, it can even benefit from government subsidies, that the websites for services stand out as Ikea’s options provide.
This collaboration does not seem the type of things that Ikea would normally offer, but has been associated with third parties in appliances before, such as Sonos for its Symfonisk speakers now discontinued. Although this specific collaboration could be new in the United Kingdom, it is not new for Ikea.
This is only a continuation of an Ikea scheme for the first time in Germany (through T3) earlier this year, and as usual, it has now expanded to include the United Kingdom and, hopefully, will expand even more to include other regions that Ikea operates.
These devices can seriously help you reduce your energy bills and dependence on fossil fuels, so it is good that Ikea is beginning to offer these services, especially through associations with companies that have a history in these fields, instead of asking us to trust a complete newcomer.
If things continue to work well for IKEA, we can even see that it expands its energy solution options in the future, maybe even reaching the point where Ikea has assembled its entire house, not just its furniture.
