- A new IKEA Smart House Switch called Bilresa has just leaked
- Apparently admits matter on thread for maximum compatibility
- This means that it should work with Google Home, Apple Homekit and Alexa
IKEA plans to reinforce its intelligent house offers soon, according to a new leak that revealed a practical two buttons switch that admits the subject on the thread.
Homewithapppls on Threads revealed an image of the IKEA Bilresa incoma (below) (through NotebookCckck). There is no IKEA brand on the device, so it is difficult to be completely sure if it is genuine, but it would certainly make sense given the increasingly strong impulse of Ikea on devices that support the matter.
Bilresa will probably be the first intelligent IKEA switch that admits the subject on the thread, which means that it should work with its Google Home Kit, Apple Homekit and Amazon Alexa. The escape suggests that Bilresa “is still in the internal test phase in Ikea”, so there is currently no estimated launch date, but it is likely that we can wait for it at some point in 2025.
While Ikea already has other smart light switches, including Somrig (above) and Rornret, these are largely limited to controlling Ikea’s own accessories, such as their traditional lights. Thanks to the support of the subject, Bilresa should play very well with her other kit, such as Philips egg lights and the best Smart Home devices.
That means that I could find myself collecting one during a sweeping on the market, particularly if it is as affordable as IKEA’s current offers. It is not yet known about Bilresa prices, but Ikea Styrbar controller costs £ 12 (about $ 15 / au $ 25), which firmly puts it in a impulse purchase territory.
IKEA embraces matter
In addition to its probable tempting price label, the attractiveness of the IKEA Bilresa filtered will be its versatility. In theory, its support support on thread should mean that it works with the majority of the existing smart home kit, which means that it could be creative with its use cases.
Last September, two years after announcing that support was approaching, Ikea finally updated his direction Smart Home Hub with subject support. But the Swedish giant of household items now seems to be increasing its offers of intelligent houses that support the matter.
In a separate leak at the beginning of this month, the Timmerflotte device, which seems to be a temperature and humidity sensor, appeared in some FCC presentations, which were seen by Cybermodstudio in X (previously Twitter). Like Bilresa, it seems to support matter on thread.
This means that we should soon have some new contestants for our guide for the best smart switches, which is currently passed by the PHILIPS TAP marking switch and the Top-Link Smart Tapo Smart switch.
However, none of them can be bought along with a shelf and meatballs in a huge starting store.
