All students also have multiple options to change in a private location separated from the costume if they want it.”

The district also says that it will work with local families to determine the next steps.

“The district and the Board are united with our leaders and educators on this subject and have a shared commitment to maintain the law,” the statement continued.

“The District and the Board ask all those who express concerns or perspectives on this subject with our staff and educators to do so in a respectful and civil way. We are happy to work with families to address individual concerns and determine the next appropriate steps to support the well -being and participation of your child.”
