The Office of Civil Rights of the United States Department of Education announced Thursday that it is launching an investigation into the Illinois Department of Education, District 299 of the Deerfield Public Schools and the District of the Public Schools of Deerfield on the violations of Title IX.
The reported violations come from an alleged incident that involves high school girls forced to change in the same costume as a transgender student.
“The Congress promulgated the title IX to put an end to discrimination based on sex against women in educational programs, and their implementation regulations have long reflected the practical practice of common sense of schools that provide separate intimate facilities for men and women,” said Craig Train Train Civil Rights Secretary in the announcement.
“The architects of Title IX understood that men and women, especially minors, have the right to be free from the obligatory exhibition of their bodies or to participate in intimate activities, such as changing their clothes in a costume, in front of the opposite sex,” Trainor continued.

“This retains the privacy and safety of all involved, especially girls. The department is deeply concerned about these accusations and will investigate this matter completely.”
Illinois’s mother, Nicole Georgas, brought to light the situation when she filed a civil rights complaint before the Department of Justice After claiming that school administrators tried to force their 13 -year -old daughter to change in front of a transgender student in the girls’ locker room last month.
She revealed the complaint during a meeting of the Education Board for Deerfield Public School District 109 Last week, claiming that the incident took place last month after his daughter refused to change her uniform during physical education because a biological student was present at that time.

“The girls want their changing rooms and bathrooms back. They want their privacy to return. That’s why I’m here tonight. The well -being, mental health and privacy of my 13 -year -old daughter are at stake, “Georgas said during his speech at the meeting of the Board on Thursday.
According to Georgas, his daughter was “scared” and “extremely annoying” on February 5 when he was using the girls’ bathroom and noticed that a transgender student was using the facilities at the same time.
“The administration told him that a student can use the bathroom, as well as a female wardrobe because they now identify as women,” Georgas said about the explanation that the administrators allegedly provided to their daughter.
Georgas then raised the problem to the school administration, and pointed out that she believed it was a direct violation of President Donald Trump’s Keep men out of women’s sports Executive order. She said in her speech that the administration informed her that, under the direction of her legal advisor, the student was free to use the girls ‘bathroom and girls’ costume.
In a statement to Pak Gazette Digital, District 109 of the Deerfield public schools said that the student is not required to change others in the locker room and added that school policies are aligned with state law.
“District 109 undertakes to provide a learning environment in which all students and staff are respected and supported. Our policies and procedures, including the use of student locker lockers
