While Marvel has already teased and confirmed much of the cast for the next major MCU installment, we’ve been getting weekly teasers confirming the returning mainstays for doomsday avengersone actress is pretty sure she’s not in the movie, but she doesn’t make any bets.
talking to Entertainment tonightKat Dennings said, “I’m in the universe and, as you know, I can’t tell you anything, but I’m not in it. I mean, I’m not in it. And I’m telling you right now that I’m not in it. If I were in it, which I’m not, I couldn’t tell you, but I literally am not.”
“I’m sure they already filmed it. I was here, I’m not in that,” she added. “But they did scan me, so to be honest, they could put me in whatever they want right now. Who knows? I’m in the system!”
It’s a great take not only on some of the inner workings of Marvel, who loves to surprise audiences with cameos and guest appearances, as well as end-credits scenes, but also on how the proverbial cookie is made.

Dennings made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in 2013 in Thor: The Dark Worldbut it has also appeared in WandaVision – one of my favorite Disney+ shows of all time – and even appeared in the animated series And if…? All of these appearances were as the lovable scientist Darcy Lewis.

Could Dennings appear in Avengers: Judgment Day Without the participation of the actress, or even visiting the set? It is possible, but unlikely. Marvel has historically not used these body scans without the actor’s direct involvement, and they are typically used to help finalize the film’s virtual effects.
Still, Dennings is clearly making the point that Hollywood’s approach to AI is still evolving, with established studios taking different approaches than newcomers to the space. After all, 2025 brought us the idea (and launch) of an actor or actress entirely created by AI, which generated very mixed reactions.
While we could expect Darcy Lewis to appear in doomsday avengers – and Marvel might be making some smart PR moves here – for now, Dennings is not on the official cast list. However, it’s long and I’ll give you a break in the paragraph before naming some of them to avoid spoilers…
From now on, Avengers: Judgment Day has one of the deepest casts of any Marvel film yet, including the return of Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU, not as Iron Man but as Dr. Doom. Beyond that, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth will return as Captain America and Thor, as well as much of the cast of Avengers: Endgame.
We will also see the cast of The fantastic four: the first steps join the roster, and the X-Men enter the fold. It will probably be a chaotic movie with a lot of action and, as is usual in the MCU now, a lot of jumping between worlds, timelines and, ultimately, universes.
